THE JACKBOX PARTY PACK 6 Free Download Unfitgirl The Jackbox Party Pack is a series with yearly installments that I always look forward to. Every year, we’re given five new party games that utilize mobile devices as the controllers for a group of players. Each game handles it differently, whether it be through written prompts, drawing, or to control a character on the screen. Jackbox Party Pack 6 continues the trend of primarily unique party games with five new titles that each bring something different to the table. Just like last year’s review of The Jackbox Party Pack 5, I will be breaking down each game and my experiences with it. It’s hard to believe that it’s been three years since Trivia Murder Party’s debut on The Jackbox Party Pack 3. It returns with a few new goodies and of course, new trivia questions. The game takes place in a hotel with several “killing floors.” If players get a question wrong, they’re sent to one of these killing floors to play a minigame. The killing floor games are definitely the highlight. During these games, you’ll fight for your life and accomplish a task to stay in the game. These tasks can be anything from picking a container that the other players not involved in the killing floor game have poisoned, or picking the correct number the most times in a series of questions. If you die, you become a ghost, so you aren’t out for good. Once every player except for one has been killed, or ten questions have been answered, the game moves on to the final round. Sadly, my thumbs failed me in round 2 when I was unable to pick out more correct answers than my opponents not fighting for their lives. In the final round, players will race to get out of the hotel by selecting the correct items in given categories. For each item they successfully guess, including items that don’t fit the category, they move up one space. Ghosts will have a chance to move three spaces while alive players only get two initially. If a ghost catches up to the surviving player, they steal their body and have a chance to escape. However, this game adds something new by having a barrier at the very end of the final room of the hotel. To get past this barrier, the surviving player has to get all three items correctly identified. Overall, it’s a good sequel to an already great Jackbox game. ROLE MODELS

This is a killing room. To get past this barrier, the surviving player has to get all three items correctly identified. Overall, it’s a good sequel to an already great Jackbox game. Some of these games feel like they’re less about winning and more about the reactions of the group you are playing with. In Role Models, you will be participating in “science experiments” to determine what role you fit into. First, everyone will vote on a category. These categories can range from “Winnie the Pooh” characters to “types of loneliness.” Whichever gets the most votes is chosen. Ties lead to a random choice between them. Next, you will organize everyone on your mobile device into the role that represents them the most. If it’s a piece of entertainment like Winnie the Pooh, you’ll see characters such as Eeyore, Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet. These categories get ridiculous in the best way. It’s better if you know everyone in your group, so it wouldn’t be nearly as fun with strangers. When everyone is done organizing their fellow players, you will see who voted for what for everyone. For the first role, whoever gets the most votes assumes that role, or in the case of a tie, it’s picked at random between them.

JOKE BOAT

Afterwards, none of the votes counts towards that player. If someone ends up without a role, the game will choose one for them. In between choosing roles, there will be personality matches. Here, players will answer a prompt to show that they fit a certain role and players will vote for that player. Sometimes, there will be a single player with two conflicting roles. This player answers a prompt and players decide which role suits their answer best.Throughout the game, you’re given “science pellets.” You earn these by your vote counting towards someone’s role, being given a role, or by participating in the conflicting personality tests. You can also earn an extra science pellet by tapping the 99% icon next to anyone you sorted that you’re 99% sure of being given that role. There’s no penalty for being wrong on this, so make sure you always tap one of them. At the end, whoever has the most science pellets is the “winner,” and their full personality is highlighted. You can see everyone else’s personalities before the winner is revealed, but I wish all of them were up for longer. It’s hard to take in who exactly is what. Joke Boat is this year’s “Mad Verse City” in that 3-8 players have to go out of their comfort zone by coming up with Mad Libs-like topics, insert them into a standup comic joke setup and finish with an individually-written punchline. After a round of jokes with two players matching up against each other is performed (two rounds if there are few enough players), a final round sees players try to take another player’s setup and try to out-joke them. The audience determines who wins each joke-off. This minigame is very group-dependent, and you might find that if people go for gross-out factors, non-descript swearing or don’t try to form comic-like jokes, the comedy falls flat. However, even with groups that keep things straight edge, the rush of having to come up with an adequate one-liner is thrilling and pushes creative boundaries for players. Back once again is Trivia Murder Party 2; a multiple-choice trivia game where 1-8 players accumulate funds by correctly solving questions. Get them wrong and you are thrown into a Saw-like microgame where you fight with everyone else who got the question wrong to “survive” the task. After there is only one player left “alive,” it goes to a final round where you have to correctly pick which options in a group of multiple-choice options belong to that category. Dead players surpassing you with correct answers can overtake the alive person in the lead and escape to victory. This is a mostly straightforward update of the game first found in Jackbox Party Pack 3, although this time there are items given to some players in minigames that can alter the course of who’s selected to die or for player mitigation.

TRIVIA MURDER PARTY 2

It’s a solid, reliable minigame that performs workmanlike in the fact you could cycle through if you’re a trivia fan. Hearing the description of Role Models does a disservice to the fun wrinkles it provides 3-6 players. You pick categories as a group like “Fibbage” topics, however, as a group, you must decide which option listed represents the other players in each category. For example, if the category was “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” my group (and I) picked me to be Donatello. As you pick more roles, there are discrepancies between players that creates more fun mini-tests. This is a very opinionated game that works best if played with a group of people that know each other. Playing it with strangers on streams or at a party where everyone playing doesn’t know each other makes it close to impossible to work. However, figuring out which people amongst you thinks they’re Han Solo of the Star Wars options available provides some laughs, and embodying the roles is funny and fun. Each collection of games has at least one stinker, and Dictionarium fits the bill for Jackbox Party Pack 6. This game sees 3-8 players come up with the definition of a fake word that was provided by the game, with others selecting which definition should fit that word. The next round sees players creating their own unique synonym (followed by voting in the best word), and the final round sees players try to come up with the best usage in a sentence to fill out the fake word’s dictionary entry.  The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Whether you’re doing this with a word or slang phrase (both starting options), there’s really nowhere to go with this game. Players are given strict parameters and are told to basically create the entirety of the game’s content from scratch on their own without others’ input. It’s like you’re competing with yourself against others in the room. With just one relative dud in the bunch, Jackbox Party Pack 6 is resoundingly consistent and has multiple games that will want you coming back for more time and time again. The jokes are well-written, the game concepts are refreshing, and I can’t think of a time where I was annoyed or confused on a topic. Most importantly, these games offer a variety of different creative outlets that don’t require a large group or live stream audience like a “Split the Room” would in previous games. Jackbox Party Pack 6 is built for everyone, and it’s that mindset which blossoms laughter and joy. Jackbox games have always had a very specific brand of humor that is just plain weird. I don’t mean that in a bad way; I mean that in the wacky, endearing definition of the word. It is this off-the-way, non-sequitur humor that has kept me following their titles since the 1998 release of You Don’t Know Jack: The Ride. Within this review, we will be diving in the seemingly endless pit of oddities that is Jackbox Party Pack 6.

If you have lived in a shoe for the past three decades, the Jackbox formula has not changed much in that time. It goes a little something like this: take an idea for a fun party game – think trivia game, word puzzler, or some incarnation of charades, make that game do a whole heap of drugs, send that game through a dimensional portal to behind a Chicago Burger King to the magical land of Foon for a few years, and then drag it back to see turned into. The result is a collection of unpredictably erratic, out-in-space, and (occasional) non-sensical games that bring people together for a few laughs. Jackbox Party Pack 6 does exactly that with its collection of five games. Beginning with Trivia Murder Party 2, players check into a spooky hotel only to be greeted by a mass murderer who likes to play with his food. Players will be asked a series of pop culture-related questions (i.e. “Which of these albums in NOT a Chance The Rapper album?”). Those who answer right are safe, those who do not are sent to the Killing Room. Each Killing Room has a different set of challenges – everything from drawing to dictation to picking a spot to hide in a box. If you answer correctly, you get to leave the Killing Room un-killed. If not, you go back as a ghost. If you get turned into a ghost, don’t worry: ghosts still get to play during each round! At the end of Trivia Murder Party 2, if at least one player is left alive
