Pinball FX2 VR Free Download Unfitgirl Pinball might seem like a bit of an odd fit for VR, and for the Quest in particular. It’s a very stationary pursuit, and the interactions with the game are limited to two buttons and the plunger, maybe nudging the table if you’re naughty. Most Quest games have you leaning, reaching, spinning, or flailing in some way. Pinball FX2 VR is one of those rare games for the system that makes you look, to an outside observer, like you might have fallen asleep. The most immediately jarring thing about Pinball FX2 VR, and which I still haven’t really adjusted to happily, is that the Touch controllers have no virtual presence in the game. The player is a disembodied camera, zipping between tables by looking at them and pressing a button. This is made weirder by the similarity of the game room hub to the Oculus Quest homeroom, which we’re all used to waving and pointing our hands about in, with a greater sense of control. Perhaps some will enjoy the immediacy of Pinball FX2 VR‘s head-pointing navigation. For me, I find that it contributes to making the game an abstract rather than a tactile experience. This extends to the controls while playing the tables. They’re simple enough; the flippers are controlled by the left and right triggers, the plunger by pulling down on the thumbstick, the table nudge with a button. It works well and feels good, but it’s hardly taking advantage of the Quest’s best traits, or the possibilities afforded by VR. UNFITGILR.COM SEXY GAMES
How lovely it would have been had the game at least given us the option of in-game hands. It would have been great to use my hand to pull the plunger to launch the ball physically. I’d like to have been able to stretch my arms out to either side of the virtual tables to use the flippers – and, most importantly of all, to nudge the table. That’s not to say that there isn’t some playful VR stuff happening here. The peripheral effects that occur while playing the tables are pleasing and well-animated. There’s a metal crab spider bot that scuttles around the frame of the Mars table. That, and a shark that circles the Secrets of the Deep are particular favorites. They add detail and a sense of fun and irreverence to what is essentially a straight pinball simulation. (Again, virtual hands to interact with the stuff happening away from the table would have been a treat – swatting away those spider bots or sharks, for example).Apart from the missed opportunity to make more of the virtues of VR, the presentation is excellent, with good, detailed graphics and pleasing sound effects. (Interestingly, the game features the option to make the graphics simpler to extend battery life, or sharper and nicer to look at). The tables are well-designed and feel great to play. The lack of movement can be a blessing for those who like to play their games seated.
LIGHTS A FLASHIN
Also, the practically motionless gameplay makes Pinball FX2 VR one of those rare Quest games that we can recommend for playing while traveling. Now Zen Studios has brought pinball to PlayStation VR, and I now know what game I’m going to use to show VR off to family and friends: pinball is absolutely perfect for the VR experience. If you think about how pinball works in real life – you’re standing over a table in a relatively stationary position watching the action play out in a constrained space in front of you – there isn’t much need to move the head more than a few degrees in each direction. Yet at the same time, this is a game where depth perception is essential; judgment needs to be precise, and as hard as developers try to recreate the pinball experience on flat screens, it’s never quite perfect. Pinball FX 2 VR gives you a genuine 3D recreation of pinball. Yes, it’s a virtual table you’re playing on, but aside from the physical feel of the buttons (shoulder buttons on the PlayStation 4 DualShock do feel differently to the buttons that control the flippers on a real table), the experience between a real table and the VR tables is exactly the same. Eerily so. The nine tables that are currently available are all taken from Zen Pinball 2, and I genuinely find myself performing better at them than I ever did with the ‘flat screen’ originals. I’m also enjoying myself much more because, as someone who has spent a lot of time playing pinball on real tables (and preferring that experience), this is as good as it’s going to get, short of spending a few thousand to buy a second hand pinball table, and then a few thousand more to get it back into working shape. As I was playing Pinball FX 2 VR I found myself leaning forward, trying to get the best angle on the action, as the ball flies around the playfield, all the while being utterly immersed in what I was doing thanks to VR’s ability to “shut out” the real world. Another really nice addition that Zen Studios has thrown in is the ambient design. When you boot the game up, you’ll find yourself in what looks like a living room space of someone who is incredibly wealthy. The penthouse-style glamour room has three pinball tables in it, and by going into the menu (sitting down on the “couch” and selecting the pinball table you want to play on the “TV”), you’re able to then go to that table in the room and start playing. When you do, the room itself transforms into a scene reflective of the table. The Wild West table turns the space into a giant western. Castlestorm meanwhile has a dragon perched on the top of the table and he’ll do some comical stuff with some nearby sheep if you lose a ball. While you could argue that the process of getting into a game through this interface is far more clunky than in vanilla Zen Pinball 2
CRAZY FLIPPER FINGERS
Where you simply select the table from the menu, the effort that has gone into the immersion within the game is a more than reasonable trade-off. As I mentioned, with only nine tables, there is currently nowhere near the same number of tables available in Pinball FX 2 VR as there are in the standard Zen Pinball 2 game, and aside from The Living Dead table, what is in that table selection is not Zen Studio’s licensed tables. Given that the most popular tables are the ones based on Marvel properties or Star Wars, the selection of tables might feel thin and limited to some players. That being said, I would argue that the Castlestorm, Wild West and Paranormal tables are deeply underrated because people have been so busy playing Star Wars or Avengers tables. I think that this release is a good chance for deserved classics of pinball table design to get a new look-in. It is, however, really odd that the Bethesda tables, which were just released as DLC in Zen Pinball 2, have not also been released in VR, especially since the Skyrim table is a masterpiece of complex pinball design, and the Doom table is a better take on the “extremeness” of Doom than anything else I’ve played in years. Hopefully, going forward, the VR and “normal” releases can be simultaneous. If I could voice one disappointment, it’s that the high scores don’t replicate across versions, and they really, really should. Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX Switch
For newer players this isn’t such a big deal, perhaps, but as someone who has spent a lot of time playing these tables in Zen Pinball 2, I have some scores that I’m really very proud of on some of them, and re-earning those scores is a bit of a pain. Still, the same ‘score reset’ rules apply to everyone, so I guess there’s a level playing field for everyone to contend with again. Zen Studios is by far the most proficient developer of digital pinball out there. I don’t think there can be any debate about that. But the studio has utterly outdone itself with Pinball FX 2 VR, to the point where I can’t actually see myself playing pinball outside of VR going forward. I obviously would like to see more tables to go with the improved playability and ambience, but the nine tables that are there currently will last me a good length of time. Now I genuinely do not feel the need to own a physical pinball table, which was something I had been contemplating before. That’s how good this is. The in-game world isn’t one that you can explore with a great deal of depth – but it does look fairly good. You start up the game on a couch before going around your table-filled lounge and picking which table to play. You’re limited to a three-table loadout at one time – which seems a bit odd on the surface. You have three tables to start with, but far more options available overall.
BUZZERS AND BELLS
When adding in DLC content like The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series, this means that you’ll have to really pick and choose your favorites. This can lead to players either missing out on tables or just not giving them much of a chance. With so few modern-day players having experienced a real-life pinball machine, having one in a VR world is quite the interesting experience. While you can’t replicate putting your drink on the glass (without a coaster, I might add), you can still do things like peer into the glass to get a better view of the detail work within the table itself. Being able to look around the room definitely helps with the immersion, and each table has its own customized surroundings. It turns the in-game home into the ultimate connected home thanks to all of the little knick knacks and lighting effects that are on display. The Mars table gives you a faux-liftoff effect as well as calls from the bridge about you being in danger or in fact, dead. The Walking Dead DLC table has easily the coolest in-world effect by having an actual zombie hovering over the table. This is both creepy and fairly cool as you’ll hear him no matter what – so if you don’t want to see him and focus on the table, you can. However, you’ll still hear him and be creeped out more often than not. Secrets of the Deep’s underwater stage is probably the best overall – and the one that replicates being underwater surprisingly well thanks to all the visual effects like bubbles and waves. Compared to the 50+ tables available in the regular Pinball FX 2, the game’s default lineup of three does feel a bit anemic by comparison. DLC tables flesh things out somewhat, while an entire season’s worth of extra content is available to buy now – adding in five tables and then one more with the Walking Dead table. There’s always an argument for quality mattering over quantity, and given that each table has to be revamped for VR and then also have themes added to it, the slim selection does make sense. It’s not like the game feels like a rip-off, it’s just that your dollar doesn’t stretch quite as far here as it did before and that can be a bit of a buzzkill. Fortunately, while the table selection is limited, each table is infinitely replayable. The visual themes alone make replaying them a lot of fun since you will always notice little things. At first, Epic Quest’s table just stands out because of the cartoon soldier nearby – then you look up and notice that the world outside the in-game room has been replaced by cartoon-style waves. The shark-infested waters of the ocean table are amazing at first, and then you notice the sharks eating things in the background before flying towards you after a game over. Little touches add up to big things here. Similarly, the in-game table physics keep you coming back because as you pick up on the little nuances of each table, you want to get better.
You’ll start off with a six-figure score and then get a high six-figure one before breaking the million point barrier. Picking up on skillshots and the best angle and power level to use leads to new and exciting results, and keeps you hooked. It also forces you to think more while you play and learn each table. Visually, there are definitely some sacrifices made when compared to the full-fledged Pinball FX 2 – but they’re not too extreme. The tables themselves still look fantastic even if the in-game world could use a bit more detail in it. The texture work for the couch and floors would definitely benefit from more work on the default PS4 – and probably look a bit better on the PS4 Pro. Still, the most important part is how well the core pinball action is replicated and that remains outstanding. The overall presentation improves even more with the sound design. The in-game world sound effects and voice work may not replicate the feeling of having fellow arcade-goers chowing down on food and swapping advice, but it does a fine job with what it tries to do. Instead of going for something that can’t be done, they focused on something that would enhance the experience and achieved that goal. The music is also outstanding and not only fits each table, but gets you excited – especially the stirring sounds from the Epic Quest table. The Walking Dead table probably has the best sound bites, but the space-themed one is a close second with its many “Houston, we have a problem!” and other such tropes being thrown around.

- Open the Start menu (Windows ‘flag’ button) in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- At the bottom of the Start menu, type Folder Options into the Search box, then press the Enter key.
- Click on the View tab at the top of the Folder Options window and check the option to Show hidden files and folders (in Windows 11, this option is called Show hidden files, folders, and drives).
- Click Apply then OK.
- Return to the Start menu and select Computer, then double click Local Disk (C:), and then open the Program Files folder. On some systems, this folder is called ‘Program Files(x86)’.
- In the Program Files folder, find and open the folder for your game.
- In the game’s folder, locate the executable (.exe) file for the game–this is a faded icon with the game’s title.
- Right-click on this file, select Properties, and then click the Compatibility tab at the top of the Properties window.
- Check the Run this program as an administrator box in the Privilege Level section. Click Apply then OK.
- Once complete, try opening the game again
NOTE: PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE LATEST VERSION OF YUZU EMULATOR FROM SOME GAMES YOU MAY NEED RYUJINX EMULATOR
- First you will need YUZU Emulator. Download it from either UNFITGIRL, ROMSLAB or REPACKLAB. Open it in WinRar, 7ZIP idk and then move the contents in a folder and open the yuzu.exe.
- There click Emulation -> Configure -> System -> Profile Then press on Add and make a new profile, then close yuzu
Inside of yuzu click File -> Open yuzu folder. This will open the yuzu configuration folder inside of explorer.
- Create a folder called “keys” and copy the key you got from here and paste it in the folder.
- For settings open yuzu up Emulation -> Configure -> Graphics, Select OpenGL and set it to Vulkan or OpenGL. (Vulkan seems to be a bit bad atm) Then go to Controls and press Single Player and set it to custom
- Then Press Configure and set Player 1 to Pro Controller if you have a controller/keyboard and to Joycons if Joycons. Press Configure and press the exact buttons on your controller After you’re done press Okay and continue to the next step.
- Download any ROM you want from UNFITGIRL, ROMSLAB or REPACKLAB. After you got your File (can be .xci or .nsp) create a folder somewhere on your PC and in that folder create another folder for your game.
- After that double-click into yuzu and select the folder you put your game folder in.
- Lastly double click on the game and enjoy it.
