Disney Dreamlight Valley Switch Free Download Unfitgirl Donald Duck is having yet another breakdown in Disney Dreamlight Valley. We’re talking full-on lying on the grass, kicking and screaming, flippers and feathers almost a blur, to the point where it’s just getting a bit embarrassing now. But it’s also my fault. All Donald D wants is a home, but his houseboat was flooded and now I can’t find the rope to help him repair it. Seaweed, it turns out, is the most valuable resource in the Valley – it’s literally rarer than gold. Resource scarcity has been a consistent theme throughout the time I’ve spent with Disney Dreamlight Valley, ahead of its Early Access launch on September 6. Seaweed, which is supposedly plentiful in several regions of the Valley, is AWOL – despite being utterly crucial for crafting twine and rope that are key to completing many of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s earliest missions. Thus, Moana’s boat goes unfixed, Wall-E’s garden remains a ruin, and Donald continues to be homeless, almost a week (and nearly 40 hours) later. UNFITGILR.COM SEXY GAMES

Hopefully, such rare drops are just a symptom of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Early Access status – something that can be tweaked with an update in the weeks to come as developer Gameloft continues to refine the rough edges. But it’s not an endearing feature at this stage, especially as the game doesn’t do much to guide you forward once you do hit a wall. Thankfully, there is plenty to do if you’re happy to occupy your time with a little bit of busywork – and if you’re familiar with life sims like Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing: New Horizons, then you will be well familiarized with such tasks. The main currency used to unlock new areas of the Valley (the expanding area which houses your villagers) and new Realms (more on those later) is Dreamlight, which can be earned by completing tasks such as fishing, farming, cooking, and chatting with your friends. Daily tasks that constantly replenish are great for quick wins, and are also complemented by longer-term goals like getting all your friendships to a certain level. The more you unlock in terms of areas and characters, the easier it is to earn more Dreamlight, which is a nice touch.

A Game In Constant Evolution

Disney Dreamlight Valley is like Animal Crossing with more story and less waiting. Excellent quality of life improvements mean a whole lot less faff; your watering can is never empty, tools never blunt or break, and stamina can be renewed by munching down on a handful of berries – which are plentiful around the Valley. There is a day and night cycle that’s linked to your own, but very little is limited to waiting for the next physical day, a la Animal Crossing. Other currencies include good old-fashioned money, which can be obtained through selling the items you gather or grow, and there’s also XP which can be earned by ticking off tasks given to you by the various Disney and Pixar characters that you’ll befriend. The Ruler suddenly left, insidious Night Thorns overtook the village, and the valley’s inhabitants forgot their purpose in life and left their friends behind. The ruler’s identity is hardly a secret, and it’s plain the metaphor Dreamlight Valley wants to create is you rediscovering joy by connecting with your old Disney pals. Intentional or not, though, it’s also an unexpected and even poignant bit of commentary about growing up in general – letting your hopes slip away, losing friends and loved ones, and generally seeing the world through a bleaker lens than before. The tinge of sadness seeps into character interactions and even quests as well. Mickey Mouse making us tear up as he talks about clinging to the hope that he may see again one day wasn’t on our 2022 bingo card, but the result is a setting where you feel more connected with the inhabitants and their joys and sorrows, even if you aren’t that much of a Disney lover. Your task is to bring the village and valley back to life, rebuilding not just its shuttered shops and run-down restaurants, but the hearts of everyone who lives there as well. That can take the shape of investing money in Scrooge McDuck’s emporium, taking Mickey’s mind off loneliness by having a picnic, or just dropping by to chat every day. Deepening your friendships also unlocks the means to explore other parts of the realm, though Dreamlight Valley occasionally falls into the common free-to-play trap of locking progress behind convoluted grinding. You need certain amounts of Dreamlight to unblock the large night thorns. Dreamlight is essentially the game’s version of Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Nook Miles Points. It accumulates when you do almost anything, from picking flowers to selling fish, but even when you have enough to proceed, you have to stop and prove yourself worthy by acquiring a special orb.

Express Your Disney Style

The first one makes you reach level five friendship with three villagers, which means handing over dozens of home-cooked meals or hunting down mining nodes that, hopefully, give you rare gems that bump friendship levels up significantly. However, the reward is worthwhile, since this is the only way to access the valley’s other biomes and, by extension, more crafting materials. Some quest requirements get stuck in a similar rut, but the payoff from most of them – even if it’s just seeing how new characters interact with established residents – makes it worthwhile. You can also take a break from grinding by spending Dreamlight in the valley’s castle to access realms, small areas themed around a certain character such as WALL-E, and invite them to live in the village. When you aren’t going fishing with Goofy or visiting realms, you’ve got a staggering array of crafting and design options to get stuck into both in your own house and across the valley itself. These options unfold slowly as you find new recipes, but there’s still quite a bit you can do even with just the basics. The Planet Crafter

It’s indicative of Gameloft’s broader design here. Disney Dreamlight Valley clearly wants to make itself approachable and fun for everyone and goes out of its way to make tasks that are often unpleasant in other life sims as convenient as possible. Every recipe, even experimental ones that should be vile failures, produces something useful. You can water whole swathes of soil with one use of the watering can. Fishing spots bubble back to life after just a few minutes. The whole experience is frictionless, minus the occasional tedious segments, and lends itself perfectly either to short check-ins to craft a few items or longer sessions getting your house just right. In other words, it’s a perfect fit for the Switch – theoretically. In reality, Dreamlight Valley needs a fair bit more optimization to run well on Nintendo’s hybrid console. Camera stuttering and frame rate issues are common in handheld mode, while both docked and handheld mode struggle with severe menu lag, long load times, and a few moments when Dreamlight Valley just gives up and crashes. Even after the dozen or so hours we’ve sunk into Disney Dreamlight Valley over the weekend, we feel like we’ve barely scratched the surface of what it has to offer. And so this is a review in progress, which we’ll revisit once we’ve spent more time with the game.

A Disney take on Animal Crossing

What we can say about Disney Dreamlight Valley, though, is that it’s shaping up to be something rather special. We always enter free-to-play games with more than a healthy dose of scepticism, but Dreamlight Valley has surprised us in all the right ways. This doesn’t feel like a “free” game and we’ve yet to have a taste of any unsavoury “play to win” style mechanics. Rather, it feels like an incredibly well-crafted adventure life sim, taking the best elements of games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley and mixing them up with plenty of Disney magic. Disney Dreamlight Valley is being developed by Gameloft, a studio who is no stranger to Disney. Its remit has mostly been mobile, however, creating Disney Getaway Blast and Magic Kingdoms alongside a huge catalogue of other titles. This might be one of Gameloft’s most ambitious titles to date, and we have a feeling that ambition might just pay off.

Starting Dreamlight Valley, you can create your own character using a robust character creator. Facial features, body type, hair colour – the usual options are here. There’s no choice of outfit, though: that comes later. Finding and gathering a wardrobe of clothing is a part of the game, and it won’t be long before you have something more exciting to change into. But chances are you’ll be so immersed in Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s gameplay loop that you won’t really care about what you’re dressed in. This is part life simulator, part adventure game. And so while you’ll spend quite a lot of time farming, cooking, crafting, designing your town, gathering fruits from trees and generally keeping it tidy, you’ll also have a huge selection of missions to undertake.

Every character you meet – all plucked from various Disney franchises – will have something for you to do. And as you build up a friendship with a character, they’ll offer you new quests over time. Some of them might be fairly basic, like gathering easy-to-find items. Others are more involved and multi-stage, requiring you to solve some puzzles, wander into new locations or collect items that require more effort and thought. The Room VR: A Dark Matter
